Capital Cooling has aimed to enhance its delivery service by investing in a fleet of new vehicles.

The refrigeration wholesaler now has eight delivery vehicles in total, following a £240,000 investment in three new trucks.

Operating from two distribution hubs in Edinburgh and St Helens, the new additions to the fleet are designed to strengthen the company’s delivery proposition overall.

According to the Edinburgh-based company, it decided to invest in a new fleet rather than outsource in order to stay ahead of the competition.

Capital Cooling CEO, Steve Steadman, said: “Our internal delivery network has always been a major unique selling point for Capital Cooling and by investing in this area, we can continue to offer what we believe is the best refrigeration delivery service in the UK.”

He added: “Our team only delivers refrigeration equipment; this is their sole responsibility, day in, day out.

“While third party partners can have their benefits they could be delivering a pallet of flooring tiles one minute and an oven the next – sandwiched in between is your new fridge. A commercial chiller or freezer is a specialist piece of equipment and we believe that its delivery should also reflect this.”

Each vehicle in the Capital Cooling fleet has been equipped with a tail-lift and all the specialist tools and accessories required for the delivery of large items.
